First Responders

To say that our police, sheriff departments, fire fighters, EMT’s and ER staff and first responders have a tough job-would be an understatement!  Sadly, many of those doing the most good in our community are the least appreciated.  Adding to the complexity of their jobs, civil unrest nationwide has made many of our first responders vulnerable to verbal and physical attacks.  COVID-19 has also put these same individuals at risk to an invisible enemy!  It is no wonder that many of our police, fire and other first responders often suffer from stress related illnesses that can shorten their lives and careers.  Since 2019, Acts of Kindness has offered bags of kindness, surprise lunches, treats and handwritten notes of appreciation to show support for their efforts.
